La Fundación Las Médulas is a non-profit cultural entity. Its main purpose is the protection, valorisation and dissemination of Las Médulas and the coordination of the actions carried out by both public bodies and private entities within this geographical area. Its creation - at the beginning of 1999 - was directly linked with the inclusion of Las Médulas in the World Heritage List.

The Foundation's funds, mainly private, come from patrons and other sponsorships financing specific projects. The Foundation is responsible for channelling these resources to activities of collective interest in Las Médulas.
